Webmin calls it 3.0204. Swat calls it 3.0.20-4-SUSE. Is that a valid
version number or is there somewhere else I can look?
check the smbd log file. It's probably /var/log/samba/log.smbd (don't
have a suse machine handy).
should say something like:
[2006/09/20 13:25:21, 0] smbd/server.c:main(805)
smbd version 3.0.22 started.
