Chris, I made changes to smb.conf on debian as per your comments.
Following is the result of "testparm -v" and some entries of my samba
log. From the Mac, "smbclient -L 192.168.01.01" times out. Hope this
give you more insight on this issue. As I mentioned, everything worked
ok in ver 3.0.22 and earlier. I very much appreciate your help on this!
