Thanks John, The fix you suggested solved my problem. I read some other stuff about people having winbind incompatibility issues causing the same error. Seems to be stuff to do with domain logins and multiple servers which doesn't apply to me. A bug in the update management system maybe? In either event, I'm back up and running so thanks!
