For some reason I can mount my XP Home machine but not my XP Professional. The mount seems to go ok until I enter the password then fails with:

17184: session request ok
Password:
17184: session setup ok
17184: tree connect failed: ERRDOS - ERRnosuchshare (You specified an invalid share name)
SMB connection failed

The command
smbmount //winpro/lba /mnt/winpro -o guest,uid=lba
works from the command line without entering a password
but not from a script. When the script is used, password is demanded but is not accepted.

Security is share.
Firewall is disabled on XP Professional since I use a pretty good gateway firewall. When I get Professional mounting, I'll look into allowing some ports (udp 139 445 ?).

A similar section of the script accepts the password and loads the Home computer without issue.

I can access the Professional from smbclient and the password is accepted without comment.

Is there some difference in how passwords are handled between XP Professional and Home?

Any ideas what's going wrong?

The Professional machine _used_ to mount
Both the Home and Prof machine use the same user name.
