Well I finally had a chance to try it. Of course it worked and if I wasn't at work I would be screaming "WOOHOO" at the top of my lungs. I'll wait till my little brother-in-laws baseball game tonight and just embarass him ;-) Thanks so much. This is going right in my how-to, and I'll add it to the WIKI on k12ltsp.org . I know I won't be the only one to miss something this simple. I'm still going to have to do a fresh install, but now I know exactly what the issue was. And I won't have any trouble when I actually get a server to install on. You guys haven't just helped me, you've helped a bunch of students have access to better technology through the use of open source software. Thanks so much!

My current domain join workaround for a rebuild/new system is to install the 3.0.23-6 packages, run the 'net ads join', then immediately update to current version. -D At 10:31 PM 4/30/2007, Kemp, Levi wrote: > Don, are you saying that despite putting in both you still get this error? > >---------- >At 04:39 PM 4/30/2007, Aaron Kincer wrote: > >You must make sure that the hostname set in /etc/hostname and what > >you have for your server string are exactly the same.
