Windows XP automatically searches the network for shares and printers upon
connecting to the network.
To disable XP automatic discovery:
* In Explorer, click Tools
* Click Folder Options
* Click the View tab,
* Uncheck Automatically Search for Network Folders and Printers in Advanced
settings list.
