This means that if I have a lot of Windows 9x clients I shouldn't install this

This is the latest production release of the Samba 3.0.25 code
base and is the version that servers should be run for for all
current bug fixes.
Major bug fixes included in Samba 3.0.25c are:
o File sharing with Widows 9x clients.
o Winbind running out of file descriptors due to stalled
child processes.
o MS-DFS inter-operability issues.
