hi,

i have to upgrade an AIX 5.3 box (see another thread "Problem with old Samba joining AD (migration szenario)") running samba 2.2.7 to samba 3.0.x since the company needs enhanced trusted domains support (for new domain DOMAINB). permissions and sid2uid-mappings have to be kept (for DOMAINA).

my plan:
- backup of AIX machine
- upgrade samba packages
- configure winbindd to allow mapping of users from both domains

besides configuring samba is there any other file except of methods.cfg and /etc/security/user that i have adjust for winbindd mappings?

in methods.cfg (shortened)
--------------------------
WINBIND
        program=...
        authonly

in /etc/security/user
---------------------
SYSTEM=files OR WINBIND

configure IDMAP to map users from DOMAINA with /etc/passwd
configure IDMAP to map users from DOMANB with idmap_rid

correct?
any hints or thoughts?

after successful upgrading i can provide you with an update for TOSHARG...

thx in advance!
