The README file contained in folder "examples/LDAP" in
"samba-3.0.30.tar.gz" package states the following:

The smbldap-tools have been removed from the samba svn
tree. The latest version will continue to be included
in Samba releases.
The smbldap-tools package can be downloaded individually from
http://samba.idealx.org/dist/
End of quote.
That is no longer true. smbldap-tools now reside here:
