Hi, now it works the servers were not native W2k ADs.
The Forrest was : root= witt.local child = de.witt.local Both system not native w2k AD. THE linux systems is part of "witt.local" Strange was that the UPN login works for the child , "de.witt.local" and not for "witt.local" after upgrade the root to native W2k AD it works for both. Any Idea why this happened? UPN authentication works only in a pure W2k or higher Directory!? thanks for your help and merry christmas carsten -------- Original-Nachricht -------- > Datum: Tue, 23 Dec 2008 11:21:16 -0600 > Von: "Gerald (Jerry) Carter" <[email protected]> > An: Carsten Witt <[email protected]> > CC: [email protected] > Betreff: Re: [Samba] Docu for Winbind using userprincipalName (UPN) > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Carsten Witt wrote: > > > Where can I find a howto configure using UPN for Winbind? > > You don't need to do anything special for "getent passwd u...@realm" > to work (and hence user logins via pam_winbind as well. > But this is only supported in a native mode AD domain. > > > > > > cheers, jerry > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) > Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org > > iD8DBQFJUR4KIR7qMdg1EfYRAllxAKCAGbzd7H0crNeBwO/Ct8q1Co/kDQCfZIbi > xK6yk5mW02GAtpfrl4FE2Fw= > =n5Np > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Sensationsangebot verlängert: GMX FreeDSL - Telefonanschluss + DSL für nur 16,37 Euro/mtl.!* http://dsl.gmx.de/?ac=OM.AD.PD003K1308T4569a -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba
