My winbindd and wb-<ads short name> logs in both 3.2.4 and 3.2.6 are
filled with this pattern:

[2008/12/27 23:19:16, 3] libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_session_setup_spnego(880)
cli_session_setup_spnego: got a bad server principal, trying to guess ...
[2008/12/27 23:19:16, 3] libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_session_setup_spnego(908)
  cli_session_setup_spnego: guessed server principal=iu-mssg-<trimmed>@ADS
[2008/12/27 23:19:16, 2] libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_session_setup_kerberos(619)
  Doing kerberos session setup

I spent some time looking for problems in name resolution before
coming across a discussion thread that more or less says that recent
Sambas lose all but the short form of the realm name, leading to the
name resolution problem. A fellow shows how patching the source code
makes these problems go away.

Other than the time on what seems like a spurious issue, are there
consequences to this behavior? Is there a workaround?

Thank you, list.
