Hi, we've had many problems with MS office files on samba shares, files couldn't be opened nor saved on share, only locally and then *copied* over ... no problem with other programs...
don't know why but mounting the share as a *network drive* on the client pc instead of a shared folder completely solved the issue... at least with win XP clients...
