Hi Shawn. I have Sambar running on a XP Pro box, and has proven to be more stable than 2000 server, which I ran previously, and also XP is some what more user friendly.
My XP is a licensed one and I'm running SP1 and configured for performance; I did a fresh installation of XP on April 27 2002 and I never had a problem with it, it has been 100% stable with not a single crash of the OS or of an application, and the server has been rebooted only 3 times since April. Te server runs Sambar, MDaemon Pro mail server, SETI command line, CommView, SetiGate, Norton 2002 AV and some small applications all concurrently. Hope this helps Jose M. Valdes R. I have been running Sambar on a 98 machine for over a year now. I am currently purchasing a new/used server and would like to run either Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro. I would perfer going to XP because it is newer and is going to have a longer support life then 2000, but I have lots of knowledge with 2000. I was just wanting other people opinions on XP or 2000 before I go out and buy a new license... CHEERS!
