I would say add memory, but wow I be afraid to shut it off to add memory, Kiding.
My Main Sambar and email is on Dual Pent 233 just upgraded to sambar 5. running NT4.0 SP5 Never crashes. 80MB memory, Multiple IDE and SCSII drives, Only problem I have ever had is the Processor Fan quit. 40 is about as stable as I have ever seen, Can't get 200 pro to even install on 500Mhz replacement, hangs every time during install. As far as support, Unless you are doing somthing weird with the box, just about everything you could ever think of has been worked on the 4.0 platform, and somebody probably has a fix. I would not upgrade, if the 4.0 platform is stable. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Danny Mallory Sent: Tuesday, January 21, 2003 6:31 PM To: sambar List Member Subject: [sambar] OS Upgrade {07} We have a NT4 server running on a Compaq deskpro 200mhz with 32MB memory.. Running very very very old version of Sambar.. Hooked into SQL server 7.0, MS databases, Excel spreadsheets and is a gateway server for Novell file web enabling.. Although this is only an intranet server, it has been running without a monitor, mouse or keyboard for several years without a reboot.. Swap file stays busy though :) Danny On 21/Jan/2003 18:04:29, Jeff Adams wrote: > At 09:28 AM 01/22/2003 +1100, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > >w2k (2000) is just as userfreindly, but more stable. > > This must be very user-dependant viewpoint.
