i am sure many people would be using the defaults (spam.dnsrbl.net relays.osirusoft.com) as listed on the sambar server mail config page. For me they are very restrictive.
So i setup my own DNSBL. I collect all the spam i have received as evidence and then add them to my blacklist. This way i have full control over my blacklisting service. you are welcome to use my server, if you wish to use it. the DNSBL server address is SPAM.SHRI.NET My policy is to list the IP address of the machine that DELIVERED the spam to my email server. and not the originator IP address, since it is really easy to FAKE an Header in the emails. === Example Spam I received from Ip address216.244.152.250===== Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from 216.244.152.250 by smtp.shri.net (Sambar SMTPD); id s20030304085447.83; Tue, 04 Mar 2003 08:54:47 Received: from QRJATYDI ( [216.244.152.250]) by mail.clinicasanborja.com.pe (8.9.3/8.9.3) with SMTP id QAA01521; ================================================= So in my DNSBL i have added the IP address 216.244.152.250 and hence all future emails from this Ip address is blocked. You are also encouraged to submit your spam emails for listing on the shri spam listing. All i ask for is the ORIGINAL and unchanged spam message be sent in your body of your email in TEXT format to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Currently i do not have very much listed on my server, so you should also use another working server also such as the default ones listed above.
