Joe,
Glad you could narrow it down. This is a good example of why I suggest
doing your own DNS. Without name resolution all the software, hardware, and
superfast connections in the world are useless. We often overlook the
critical role DNS plays. If you have a spare PC (just about anything, even
a 486 would do) you can run a fine DNS server on Linux for free, or, as I
do, use the Simple DNS Plus program right on the same box as Sambar.
By doing your own DNS, you can also add sub-domains in minutes (such as
www.test.mydomain.com). This is really handy for staging a new web site
before making it "live". Its also a nice way to make separate sites for
multiple people/uses from a single domain name. Just something to think
about.

Subject: [sambar] Thanks

Thanks to allwho have attempted to help this newbie! I am running W2K,
so I tried the NSlookup program (I didn't even know it was there, I
wonder what other gold is present I don't know about!). For some
reason my ISP's nameservers are not resolving some domains, a problem
I'll now relay to them now that I'm sure of it.

I really didn't think it was Sambar but I didn't know where else to go
for help.

Thanks again to all you great guys!
