I need some assistance with creating a .htaccess file for a webpage that I need to have user authenticated. I've gone through everything in the Sambar documents and even found information on the net, but nothing is really helping.
I tried logging into my server through telnet and ran the command: htpasswd -c E:\folder\folder2\folder3 user, to which the prompt went from a "server>" prompt to a "foserver>" prompt. I was expecting a prompt for password as Sambar states, but entering a password only got a "bad command: password" statement and back to the "server>" prompt. I also tried running the sacrypt from the terminal, but did no better. Could someone please help out this noob find his way to the secure promised land? Thanks.
