Christine,

you're absolutely right regarding MicroScrap's Win9x products - I
*never* used these for anything. Not even at home ;-) Much too leaky and
unstable. I'd never dare to put a live system on Win9x...

Starting with NT3.51, then 4.0, now 2000Pro, I could seldom find
problems with BIND, and they were usually bugs in the OS (like NT4's mem
leaks before SP5 or 6).

I don't want to make this an religious issue, but for clarity and
portability I tend to stick with BIND, even if the Windows ports are
usually a bit behind... (And WinNT4 Server's DNS wasn't too bad either,
only I didn't like the GUI.)

Unfortunately I don't know SimpleDNS, but if *you* say it's good, it
must be good. Basta. :-)) Btw, is it free-, share- or buy-ware? Send me
a copy :-))

And yes, I'd like to see *nix Sambar. Only probably everyone uses Apache
under Linux, so Tod would waste efforts? I like his approach of giving a
stable, lean & mean machine to all of us that don't want to learn
administering *nix-based systems und thusly use WinDoze.

Just my two cents...

Hugs & Kisses
Matthias
