I'm trying to use a CanoScan 5600f on Linux Mint 19.1.
The scanner is also detected in XSANE-GENESYS:
Found USB scanner (vendor = 0x04a9 [Canon], product = 0x1906 [CanoScan],
chip = GL847) at libusb: 001: 008
However, these error messages are also issued:
could not fetch string descriptor: Pipe error
could not fetch string descriptor: Pipe error
scanimage -l brings
device `get-upsys: libusb: 001: 008 'is a Canon 5600F flatbed scanner
If I start xsane as root, I can scan, but only get vertical stripes as
output.
What else can I do?
