My scanner is HP5590. Normal usage is via saned ie its connected to a Linux machine which acts as a sane server. The setup on the linux machine is basically creating a file hp5590.conf as its missing in the default sane-backends and pointing it to the USB id of the scanner (usb 0x03f0 0x1705) On my Mac I have installed sane-backends via Macports then modified the configuration files /opt/local/etc/sane.d/net.conf to point to the Linux machine and /opt/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf to use the network backend. When I connect the scanner directly to my Mac its automatically detected by System Preferences - Printers & Scanners thus no need to use sane or its backends/frontends in this case. I will try and see if I can use sane when directly connected and let you know Regards Tony -- sane-devel mailing list: [email protected] https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/sane-devel Unsubscribe: Send mail with subject "unsubscribe your_password" to [email protected]
