Thanks Yuri. Just to confirm - just adding myself to saned and scanner still does not work.
To follow the link you sent above - I still need to follow through with the section *Create a rule for the device* and *Test the rule* - since *Ubuntu updated the scanner policy* - it seems like? the Create rule seems complicated - so will go ahead with doing so once I get your confirmation and let you know how it works. Meanwhile - it works great as sudo and sudo gscan2pdf works great as well! Thank you much.
