Hi Rolf

I think it was connected on both fronts, but I've removed the USB now.

Thank you so much to you and the other developers - wonderful assistance!

Alll the best

Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Please check that your device isn't connected on both interfaces, WiFi and USB. However, the connection should be exclusive either on USB or WiFi.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Rolf

Hi there

I have just installed Ubuntu 20.04 on my Dell Inspiron 5559. I have a new Canon printer, a Pixma TR4540, which is connected by USB and is on my home wifi network.

I've installed the latest drivers for scanning & printing, and the printing works brilliantly, both via USB & the network.

But I cannot get the scanning to work, even though Simple Scan seems to find the scanner (see below).

I've been using Ubunto and Canon printers for over 10 years and have never encountered this issue before. And I can just about follow step by step instruction for installing stuff via the terminal, but that's the extent of my knowledge... ie backend & frontend stuff is over my head.

Please could someone advise me as to how to proceed?

Many thanks
