[sane-devel] Fwd: Getting back involved; &, errors errors errors

Hi there! Ubuntu Bionic (18.04) Kernel 5.3.0, Canon PIXMA MX870 
connected over WiFi (Comcast XFinity router, not sure if that part 
matters), scanning initiates, there are some sounds from the scanner, 
but then I get an I/O error. After that, scanner continues to indicate 
it is scanning but the light source does not move across the platen bed; 
obviously nothing is scanning, there are no sounds, nothing. Here's a 
snap of my situation:

Not sure where to go from here. Willing to help with debug efforts if 
anyone would be so kind as to instruct me as to which direction to go. 
Otherwise, just wanted to report it to keep the developers informed.
