The 1.0.14 version quoted is for the frontends. So the situation is not
as bad as it might seem.

Nevermind, I see you were responding to my earlier post.
I'm looking forward to sane-backends 1.0.31 supporting my device in
Bullseye. In my case I can wait for that eventuality, but it must be
incredibly annoying for those who don't have other options.
