I have done some further testing, this time with scanimage. Again, I have failures with film=Postive Slide. I hope the attached log is self explanatory. Things that I noticed, but don't (yet?) understand: 1) The sane-epson2 page doesn't mention the Slide values for film, but it seems to be advertised by the backend. 2) Both the focus and autofocus options are marked as inactive, and my debug logs do not show any focus command being sent unless i have missed them. That is what I expect for autofocus, but i thought that focus *was* set for TPU or flatbed. ael
