Thanks for the reply. No - I've never heard of them. As you've probably deduced I'm no SANE expert, I've just tinkered occasionally to get a scanner working when it's been necessary. If you think it's worth a shot I'll give them a try. As you've used the plural I guess there are at least two of them, can you recommend one for use with the WF-4820 scanner? -- 73, Ged.
