Hi! [Please CC me since I'm not subscribed to the mailing list]
I've got problems performing preview scans with my HP PSC 750 multifunction USB printer/scanner. The preview scans are extremely slow compared to normal scans of the entire scan area. A normal scan of entire scan area takes 25 seconds: 5 seconds calibrating the scanner 10 seconds actually scanning the sheet of paper 10 seconds transmitting the image to the computer The corresponding preview scan takes around 150 seconds: 10 seconds calibrating the scanner 10 seconds actually scanning the sheet of paper 130 seconds transmitting the image to the computer Since most of the time during a preview is spent transmitting the image to the computer it is natural to believe that problem is USB-related. But since a normal scan which ought to transmit much more data is so much faster I don't think there's an issue with the USB-communication, but rather some part of SANE. Has anyone experienced similar problems with a HP PSC multifunction scanner/printer? Is this a known problem with a known solution that would make me go d'oh? :-) I tried to search both the net and the mailing list archives, but that was to no avail.
