This USB+SCSI scanner doesn't seem to be listed in the USB compatibility list but I found something sounding similar in the main compatibility list:
UMAX Astra 2100 S listed under SCSI. I just verified that a Mustek 1200 CU Plus was working on my system. No more help necessary at the moment. Thanks to all.
