We gave up getting a new scanner fro Linux/sane and since it was possible to repair the Lamp driver board we decided to reestablish the Mustek sane backend for the 12000 SP.
The collegue who repaired the scanner had the impression that the scanner must have been under current (bulb on) for a long time and it might have been exposed to too much heat. So the question came up if it could be possible that the scanner is not properly shut down after a scan was made thus leaving current flow through circuitry and the bulb all the time? -- Chris Christoph P.
