I don't use usbmgr but I think it's only necessary if you want to load the USB modules on demand. If you just do "modprobe scanner" and "modprobe ohci" the scanner should be detected. > Hmmmm. They should have been created by the distribution, however. If SANE works for your scanner now, Debian isn't using SANE 1.0.5. Maybe it's a CVS snapshot taken later then the 1.0.5 release.
