The Canon-SCSI backend 1.0.9 (available via anonymous ftp from stthd0.pc.uni-koeln.de) supports the FB1200S. If scanimage does not find the scanner, it is often a problem with the file permissions of the scanner device file. Can you run scanimage as root?
