"Author" as in the one who scanned the image could be predefined by the real name field of /etc/passwd. If the frontend can get the list of devices, also the manufacturer and model of the scanner is known. But these features should be optional. Not everyone may like to see his name, the date and more details on some random scan he wants show on his website. Bye, Henning
