Since then, I've not got much farther with XSane because I get a multiple image in the Viewer - eight reduced-size images spread across the Viewer window. Any thoughts? Because of this, I've installed QuiteInsane to see if it is any better. It works! - although the quality isn't brilliant, but I haven't 'fine-tuned' it yet. The only problem is that it's painfully s-l-o-w - particularly the p--r--i--n--t--i--n--g (it takes about ten minutes to print a single A4 colour page (in addition to the 4-5 minutes it takes to scan the image)! Grateful for any thoughts on Sane. Thanks Best Fred
