I'm not the writer of that specific backend, so I'm afraid only Jochen can help you further with that. You can still try to get some additional output as follows: SANE_DEBUG_MUSTEK_PP=255 SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_PA4S2=255 scanimage -T (I suppose you are not using a 2.2 kernel?
