The link to the source files is dead because they probably wouldn't work with the current sane release and the quality is not good enough (I didn't do much testing, it simply worked for me). After I posted the patch there was the idea to write a daemon as layer between sane and IOKit to allow forks (see postings around 2003-02-14). As I just started my PhD work I have currently not much time to help out. Regards Beat H.
