I've got experience writing Unix device drivers in C and assembler but haven't tackled USB stuff yet. I'd like to make it work for my situation first (libusb on FreeBSD 4.8) then work with the community on the general solution. I was mainly worried that the lack of activity in the 2300C thread meant it wasn't do-able. I'll be posting my progress on http://www.worldwins.net (look for the virtual scanner in a couple of days)
