[...] I had similar problems with my Agfa Snapscan 1236U. I am able to get a preview and the final scan, but my usb system hangs (errors like the one above) after the next "action". So I have to restart my scanner after each scanned picture. But ... we got a digicam these days and I faced similar problems: If I start gtkam a second time, it cannot find the camera ... guess what errors appear in the log ... As long as the camera and gtkam work with my notebook without problems, I guess this is not an error of sane but of the usb system (libusb, chipset on my desktop pc, what ever ..). If one has a solution, I am interested, too ...
