HI, why I should try this old modul (http://www.rzg.mpg.de/~mpd/sane/)? sane worked for me in version 1.0.13 so I see no need for testing out this old stuff.
And the canoscanFB620S? what is this? I can't find it in the web? Do you really think, that this will work with a canon 2700 film scanner?
