Hello all, I am running a SuSE 9.1 with a Canon USB Scanner attached.
sane-find-scanner tells me this: found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9 [Canon], product=0x220d [CanoScan], chip=LM983x?) at libusb:002:003 and I set up the scanner with yast. Wenn I log into X and start xsane, I am able to scan. But when I got to a terminal and do a "/usr/bin/scanimage", I get this message: "scanimage: no SANE devices found" Please help! I want it to be now NOW and have easy scanner access. Thanks in advance Cornelius My mounts are setup this way: --snip-- linux:~ # mount /dev/hda6 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr) proc on /proc type proc (rw) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) /dev/hda1 on /boot type ext2 (rw,acl,user_xattr) /dev/hdc on /media/cdrom type subfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,fs=cdfss,procuid,iocharset=utf8) /dev/fd0 on /media/floppy type subfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, sync,fs=floppyfss, procuid) capifs on /dev/capi type capifs (rw,mode=0666) usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw) --snip-- The device in the proc filesystem exists: --snip-- linux:~ # ls /proc/bus/usb/002/003 -l -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 57 Sep 30 11:20 /proc/bus/usb/002/003 --snip-- I get such a message in the /var/log/messages: --snip-- Sep 30 11:26:16 linux scanimage: resmgr: server response code 200 Sep 30 11:26:16 linux scanimage: resmgr: server response code 200 --snip-- -- Diese Nachricht wurde auf Viren und andere gefaehrliche Inhalte untersucht und ist - aktuelle Virenscanner vorausgesetzt - sauber.
