Thanks for your response. Yes, NEC Petiscan is the name of the scanner. As far as "sane-find-scanner" goes, am I to assume that I have to be running Linux, or can I use the Terminal program on the Mac and do this in Unix? And can I further assume that Mattias Ellert's MacOSX downloads will not be applicable in this case?
