Lurking this mailing list I found a thread back in November about a problem= =20 with hp3400c and libusb, and I have exactly the same problem :) However, I can add some informations to better specify that problem. I have an Asus A7M266 motherboard with the infamous via686b southbridge and= =20 I'm using the uhci-hcd usb kernel driver. The 2.4 scanner kernel module worked perfectly, but both libusb and 2.6=20 scanner module (definitively removed from 2.6.3) says that the device is=20 busy. If unplug and replug the device and immediately access the scanner with any= =20 frontend it works correctly; same behaviour if I just restart hotplug.=20 Sometimes the device remains accessible for some minutes, sometimes for few= =20 seconds, sometimes for more than one access, sometimes only for the first=20 access.
