And another interesting thing: I've checked it with PLD LiveCD, on *the same machine* it is working just *perfeclty* on under Win98. The results were somewhat better, but that's still too few to call it a working hardware. Here's an image with description of what the scanner did: http://enleth.com/smieci/scanner.png PLD LiveCD works under 2.6.4 kernel, with sane 1.0.12. It didn't work at all on my PC. These two machines are completely different, mine is a brand new PC with nForce2 mainboard (and, thus. nForce USB controller), the second one is eight-years-old pile of crap with some VIA mainboard. Generally, something's REALLY wrong there, but I can't say what - I don't have any experience with troubleshooting USB problems...
