Hi, I can't get my Epson Perfection 1260 Photo working. It worked OK with SuSE 9.0 but broke when I ungraded to SuSE 9.1. I've now upgraded to SuSE 9.2 and it still does not work. Connection is via USB. The EP1260Pis reported as 'Complete' on the SANE web site. I did an automatic installation with YAST2.
As root or as normal user, I get: sane-find-scanner reports: found USB Scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x011d [EPSON scanner], chip=LM9832/3 at libusb:001:003 scanimage -L reports: No scanners were identified scanimage -d test -T reports: all tests (17) PASS scanimage -d plustek -T reports: open of device plustek failed: invalid argument [Have I misunderstood the man page?] /etc/hotplug/usb/sane.usermap contains the single line: desktopdev 0x0003 0x468 0x11d 0x0000 0x0000 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0 /etc/ld.so.conf contains /usr/local/lib but does not contain /usr/local/lib/sane /etc/sane.d/dll.conf has plustek uncommented. /etc/sane.d/epson.conf has: #SCSI scanner: scsi EPSON . . #USB scanner: usb Can anyone help? How do I check to see if there is more than one backend installed? I did an upgrade rather than a clean installation so something could have been left rather than uninstalled in the change from 9.0 to9.1. Thanks Bernard
