I wrote an email asking for CX3500 support to be added to SANE, only to realise it has the same USB ID as the CX3650, which was added to SANE on 2005-04-26. I guess that means SANE now supports the CX3500 'out of the box'?
In that case could someone please add the CX3500 to the list of supported devices? In case it contains relevant information I have left my original (and most likely redundant) email at the end of this message. Regards John Dalton ==================================== Could someone please add support for the EPSON CX3500 multifunction device to SANE? The CX3500 appears to be identical to the CX3200, except the product ID has been changed to 0x080e. For the last 6 months my father has been successfully using the CX3500 with SANE. The steps we followed to get it working (under Ubuntu Hoary) were: 1) Edit /etc/hotplug/usb/libsane.usermap and copy the entry for the CX3200. Change the string "CX3200" to "CX3500" and the number "0x0802" to "0x080e" in the newly copied entry. 2) edit /etc/sane.d/epson.conf Comment out the line "scsi EPSON" and change the line "usb" to "usb 0x04b8 0x080e". Presumably a knowledgeable person on this list with CVS access can use the above information to add an entry for the CX3500 to SANE? I suspect most of step 2) is redundant. I'm fairly confident with the above changes, as my father has been using the CX3500 without any problems for six months now. Regards John Dalton
