Oliver,

Is there anything I can do to help get the Transparency unit to work?

Subject: [sane-devel] Success report: Canon LiDE 50 and Canon LiDE 60
Message-ID: <[email protected]>

Hi everyone,

After lots of testing I can confirm that the Canon LiDE 50 and Canon
LiDE 60 work with the genesys backend in experimental CVS.

I had to slow down the initial motor speed a bit to avoid freezes of
the motor (changes are already in CVS). I also enabled the Canon LiDE
60 in genesys.conf and disabled the warning messages for these
scanners.

The only thing that doesn't work as expected is 2400 dpi which needs
inflating of the x-resollution as this is an asymetric mode (1200x2400
dpi).

Please test if the Canon LiDE 35 still works.

Can anybody check if the Canon LiDE 40 also works?

Can we move the code from experimental to normal CVS so it can have
some more testing before release? Or are there critical changes that
are not ready for normal CVS?

Last, many thanks to Pierre Willenbrock who made gl841 support
possible! And many thanks also to all the other genesys contributors.

After the release, I'll try to add some more GL646/GL841 to the
backend.

Bye,
  Henning
