Hi, these are the results of testing with o Canon LiDE 60 o OpenSuSE 10 on a ThinkPad T30 with 512 MB RAM o sane 1.0.17 o xsane 0.98b
1. Lineart ---------- All resolutions ok. 2. Gray/8bit ------------ All resolutions ok. 3. Gray/16bit ------------- All resolutions ok. 4. Color/8bit ------------- All resolutions work. 1200 and 2400 are very slow (> 15 minutes per page) 5. Color/16bit -------------- All resolutions work. 1200 and 2400 are very slow (> 15 minutes per page) Known bugs/problems ------------------- o At 2400 dpi the resulting image is distorted, ration 1:2, due to asymmetric resolution of scanner. o Resolutions >= 600 dpi lead to backtracking. Nevertheless, horizontal stripes/lines were no longer seen and the images look fine! Problems -------- o All tests were done with the built-in USB 1.1. I have a USB2.0 PCMCIA card; Lineart, gray/8 and gray/16 work fine with it, but color scans result in seg faults as mentioned in http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/2005-December/015583.html o Color scans > 600 dpi are infinitely slow. Lineart and gray are done with more or less acceptable speed. Can anyone tell how to solve the (real) problems mentioned above? Thanks a lot!
