I had to add those lines in my /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules
file to be able to use my scanner, although descriptions of those
scanners do appear in mp150-0.13.1/pixma.desc file:
# Canon PIXMA MP160
SYSFS{idVendor}=="04a9", SYSFS{idProduct}=="1714", MODE="664", GROUP="scanner"
# Canon PIXMA MP460
SYSFS{idVendor}=="04a9", SYSFS{idProduct}=="1716", MODE="664", GROUP="scanner"
