I've got a big scanjob, in which I want to scan part of the archive of a club I'm member of. I want to scan month by month, and save the scans in a directory-structure like dirname/year/month. The years are subdirec- tories of the top-dirname, and the years have at maximum 12 subdirs, for the months with material to be archived. I did try to specify a save-directory under "preferences", and tried two "candidates" to specify the save-directory: under "setup" one can speci- fy (under tab Save) the "temporary directory". This did not work as well as I wish. I've got a rather complicated subdir-structure, and the directory I intended looked like ~/subdir1/sd2/sd3/sd4/targetdir. A second candidate to specify the directory settings was the "save device settings", but whatever I tried, I could not get closer to the targetdir than ~/subdir1/sd2. Tried a less complicated directorystructure, and speci- fied /mnt/partition as the save-directory. Tried to specify this under preferences -> setup -> save , and under preferences -> setup -> Save device settings. But whatever I tried, xsane kept ~/subdir1/sd2 as the place to save my scans to. Did I forget something, or tried something that is entirely impossible? Or can I indeed specify my work/save-directory wherever I want to?
Thanks for any help you can give. Julien -- Julien Michielsen julien_at_michkloo.xs4all.nl
