I thought "scanimage -d... -T" is the right way to do a test? I use it in the YaST scanner config tool to provide a [Test] option for the user to test if his scanner/backend combination works. Should I better use "scanimage -d... >/dev/null" for a test? > On Nov 18, 2007 11:30 PM, tj <999alfred at comcast.net> wrote: > > I have a Canon FB630U sacnner and a problem with it under Slackware 10. > > > > Do a: > > $ scanimage -L > > device `canon630u:/dev/usb/scanner0' is a CANON Canoscan FB630U flatbed > > scanner > > > > so the scanner is found. > > But do: > > $scanimage -T -d canon630u:/dev/usb/scanner0 > > > > and it just hangs. Isn't "/dev/usb/scanner0" outdated (perhaps not for Slackware 10) because nowadays it is usually a libusb device like "<backend>:libusb:<bus-number>:<device-number>"?
