In keeping with the timetable announced on 2007-11-16, sane-backends is now in feature freeze. Feature freeze means that only bug fixes and documentation updates are allowed.
The remaining events (may move a few days if required): 2008-01-20 Code freeze 2008-02-03 Release sane-backends-1.0.19 After code freeze only documentation updates and fixes of grave bugs that render a backend completely unusable or break compilation are accepted. New backends since SANE 1.0.18: cardscan, dell1600n_net, epjitsu, epson2, hp3900, hp5590, hs2p Note #1: This will be (hopefully) the last release of the SANE 1.0 series. The next release of SANE will be extended (in a backwards compatible fashion) to support more features of modern scanners. Please join the sane-devel mailing list to take part in the ongoing discussions of the future of SANE. Note #2: I am about to take a spin thru our bug tracker, and try to assign or close as many bugs as possible. In particular, requests for the creation of new backends are not 'bugs' and will be closed (after the relevant info is transferred to the unsupported lists). Any help would be appreciated: http://alioth.debian.org/tracker/index.php?group_id=30186&atid=410366 Thanks- allan -- "The truth is an offense, but not a sin"
